Redesign of the lobby area of an Art Nouveau hotel
The Schweizerhof in Flims is a hotel steeped in history – characterised by Art Nouveau, hospitality and family heritage. With the careful renovation of the lobby area, this identity has been reinterpreted and brought into the present day.
The existing architecture continues to form the foundation. Newly furnished seating areas, specially selected carpets and curtains lend the room warmth, elegance and a contemporary lightness. Colours and materials refer to the historical context and allow the past and present to flow into one another.
Special attention is paid to the historical posters and film posters owned by the hotel. As valuable witnesses to history and part of the family heritage, they tell stories of bygone eras and give the lobby area a personal, authentic touch.
The result is a place that preserves the character of the Art Nouveau hotel, reimagines it and gives guests a sense of history, culture and hospitality as soon as they enter.
